My Mission
I help the faithful interpret behaviors and thoughts from the teaching tradition of the Eastern Orthodox Church to facilitate spiritual growth toward the therapeutic goal of healing the passions so they are empowered to navigate modern mental health as clients and clinicians.
About Olmstead Therapy
Olmstead Therapy has gone through a few cycles of change. It began as private-practice counseling in February 2021 and was rebooted in the Summer of 2023. In the Summer of 2024, having completed my first year of seminary, I changed my situation. This involved a pivot away from private practice toward a focus on personal research, writing, and speaking about mental health viewed through the teaching lens of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The purpose of this project is for pastoral and clinical application, and not for pure academics or detached research. I no longer see clients for licensed counseling at Olmstead Therapy, which has become a personal research project focused on Orthodox psychology and psychotherapy.
